I'm going to start this blog post by stating that after a week in Oregon with Sam + Chris, I now am officially certified as a Professional Third Wheel. Yay! haha!
I have been geeking out about seeing Sam + Chris for MONTHS. Not only was I stoked to spend a week with them and venture the Portland Metro area with these two like minded Foodies, I was able to photograph their engagement and wedding in the same week! Heck yea, all of the goodness.
As per all of my couples, I love to photograph them in places that mean something to them & can contribute to their love story. Sam and I settled on two local places: The International Rose Test Garden and one of their personal favorites- McMenamins! Okay, side tangent. So if you've never heard of McMenamins and you like allllll of the good local food and drinks, please just take my word for it and experience any McMenamins location yourself. With a handful of historic locations, no two are alike! We were able to swing by the Edgefield Power Station for the second half of Sam & Chris's engagement session, followed by a dinner in the restaurant. Thankfully I had two solid McMenamin vets sitting across the table from me to point me in the right direction for the best grub. Sam & Chris love these spaces so much that Chris actually proposed at one! Now that's my kind of proposal ;)
Sweet Sam + Chris, you are two of the most lovely souls I have ever had the pleasure of third wheeling with ;) It's safe to say that this week will not be the last time I see you both! But the best part about the next time I'll see you two in person? You'll be married!
