Ashley + Phil | A Vintage Wedding | Westby, WI

Updated: Jun 28, 2018

Her hand rubbed over his back as if her fingertips were to only caress his suit jacket ever so slightly. They both breathed full and in sync with one another. If you looked real close, you could see them swaying effortlessly, mirroring the leaves dancing in the wind behind them. They hugged each other as if they needed each other simply to breathe. I watched them at a distance as they told their love for each other without words. Until this moment, no words had been spoken between either of the newlyweds. Ashley gave Phil another gentle and full squeeze of an embrace and whispered over his shoulder,

"This has been a long time coming."

These were the first five minutes Ashley and Phil had been alone (with the exception with me as their third wheel ;) ) after saying "I DO!" at the alter. Their first portraits as husband and wife are some of my favorites ever to date. Seriously.

Though Ashley and Phil have only been married for less than a week, they have made leaps and bounds with the meaning of family. Raising three sweet blonde girls is no easy feat, and Phil rose above the challenge. They both made it a point to incorporate family as much as possible into their wedding day, because they realize that it's not just about the two of them, it's about the five of them (I'm not crying, you're crying!) From vintage family heirlooms to all three of the girls' in the bridal party themselves, there was no shortage of love there on their wedding day! I personally carried six packs of travel sized Kleenex around all day and used most of a package when Ashley sang to Phil "I Choose You" by Ryann Darling. It was as sweet as it sounds and after Ashley got done with us there wasn't a dry eye in the house!

Ashley & Phil,

It doesn't matter at which age you found each other. All that matters is that you both emit such a love for each other that there is no doubt you were meant to find one another. From the way you both look at each other when the other isn't looking to witnessing you both pour your soul into the other, you have shown what true love and fate will do. Your family is beautiful. You are both wholly and completely deserving of love in all forms that you attract. My heart is overwhelmingly happy for you all, and I cannot wait to watch the rest of your story unfold! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Earlandson!

Seeing her daughter as a Miniature Bride (yeah, I cried too)

"I hope you feel as beautiful as you feel now for the rest of your life"
